Milton Hershey School(n)-

A school where underprivileged children are given a chance to rise above their circumstances







In 1909, Milton Hershey and his wife signed the Deed of Trust creating the Milton Hershey School. They had decided to use their wealth to help the less fortunate providing children below the poverty line with shelter, food and education. In 1918, Hershey gave the School's trust fund his entire fortune and his ownership of his company.

^Students of this school were originally only white and male. Later on, enrollment extended to people of all gender and color.^



This school has a positive impact on the students who have often grown up in poor environments. This school continues to make a difference in peoples' lives. Enrollment has increased by 50%. The school also spends around 74 thousand dollars on education and boarding each year for one student.






Hershey's legacy lives on through the alumni and current students of this school whose lives have been forever changed by the generosity of one man.
